This specimen contains majority Sphalerite overgrowth with Quartz epimorphs (SiO2) after Fluorite (CaF2).

Originally dug in the 17th century, wasn't brought to light until 2003. Attractive two-sides specimen. Lustrous, translucent white Quartz epimorphs (molds in the shape of the mineral it grew over) with scattered black Sphalerite crystals. Boundary Cross Vein, Rampgil Mine, Nenthead, Alston Moor District, N. Pennines, North and Western Region, Cumbria, UK. 9 x 9 cm.
