Physical Description
A 2-cm, lustrous, octahedral franklinite crystal in calcite matrix, reasonably intact. Franklinite is a highly brittle mineral, and crystals are normally damaged and of dull to only slightly shiny luster. Undamaged to nearly undamaged crystals are rare, and those with flat faces and brilliant luster are even more so. Lustrous crystals are more likely to be from Franklin than Sterling Hill.
