Physical Description
A hydrothermally altered mass of feldspar and andradite with minor hendricksite.
A broad, exposed fracture surface on the specimen is coated with secondary prehnite, pectolite(?), and xonotlite. Upon re-examination, the prolonged phosphorescence of the orange-fl. mineral indicates clinohedrite rather than pectolite. This is one of the “keepers,” a highly attractive (under SW UV) specimen of altered calc-silicates from the so-called Parker Shaft assemblage. The high appraisal value reflects its collector appeal.
