Physical Description
Graphite, uncommonly large pure specimen, could be from Franklin, but uncertain. Large masses of graphite such as this are uncommon from the Franklin – Sterling Hill area but have been found now and then in some of the local quarries. The problem is that few of them have sufficient associated minerals to prove derivation from the Franklin area.
